Administrator setup of GoReact in Canvas

Important Note

If you are an instructor adding the GoReact app to an individual course, please see this guide instead.

Follow the steps below to add the GoReact app to your Canvas organization.

  1. From the Admin tab, select "Settings," and then "Apps."
  2. Select or search for GoReact. (Can't find it? You may need to click "Manage App List" and then add the GoReact app to your organization's whitelist.)


  3. Click "Add App."


  4. In the dialog that opens, enter your email in the "Consumer Key" field, and goreact (lowercase) in the "Shared Secret" field, then click "Add App."


  5. That's it!  The GoReact app is now available for all courses in your organization. Now, instructors can create GoReact assignments in Canvas.

Custom Key and Secret

If you would like to update the key and secret for your organization to a custom combination,

  1. Follow this guide to set up the app with the generic key and secret.
  2. Create a GoReact assignment and open it.
  3. Once you see the GoReact dashboard, contact the support team to request a unique key and secret.
  4. Update the App in Canvas with the provided key and secret.
