Enabling your camera and microphone

In order to record in GoReact, GoReact must be allowed access to both your camera and your microphone.  If GoReact cannot access your camera and/or microphone, then following this guide should help to resolve the issue.  (Before following this guide, you should also update your browser to the most recent version.)

What browser are you using?

Chrome

1.  Initial prompt

When you record for the first time in GoReact, you will be prompted to allow access to your camera and microphone.  This prompt will show at the top of the window.  Make sure to select Allow.

2. If you do not see this prompt, then access may have already been blocked.

While you are on the GoReact dashboard,

  • To the left of our web address, click the Padlock padlockchrome.png icon.
  • Make sure the drop-down menus next to Camera and Microphone are set to Allow.
  • If you do not see these options, then click chromesettings.PNG Site Settings at the bottom.
  • In the new tab that opens, select Allow next to Camera and Microphone.
  • Reload the page to apply the changes.

Additional Note

If you are unable to get your camera and microphone working by following this guide then you can go through additional steps in the camera troubleshooting and microphone troubleshooting guides.  If you are using GoReact in an LMS (Canvas, Blackboard, etc.) and the GoReact tool is loading in an iFrame (nested in the same tab as the LMS), then GoReact may be unable to access your camera and microphone in certain browsers.  If this is the case, try a different browser or ask your instructor to change the setting so the tool opens in a new tab/window.
