Please Note
With our new GoReact dashboard, there is some new terminology. Note that Folder/Course, Activity/Assignment, Owner/Instructor, and Participant/Presenter are now interchangeable terms.
Activity Settings Panel
The Activity Settings panel is where you set permissions and define how your Activity will appear to your participants. To enable or edit any of these settings, click the ellipses button ⋮ to the right of your activity name and select "Edit Activity" to open the Activity Settings panel. (These settings are also available when you are creating a new activity.)
Activity Name - The title of the Activity.
Activity Type - This defines the structure of the Activity: Standard, Stimulus, or Comment Only. For more details, see Activity Types.
Recording & Feedback Privacy - Determines if participants can see others' recordings and/or feedback. The default setting is Private.
- Private - Recordings and feedback are only visible to the Participant and Owners/Reviewers.
- Closed Peer Review - Videos are visible to all users in the folder. Peers can see and critique others' recordings, but their feedback is only visible to the Participant and Owners/Reviewers.
- Open Peer Review - Videos and feedback are visible to all users in the folder. Peers can see and critique others' recordings, and can see everyone's feedback on all submissions.
Source media - This setting is required on Stimulus and Comment Only activities. Change the drop-down to "Owner Selected" to upload, record, or add a file from your Library. If you would like participants to submit and respond to their own source media, change the drop-down to "Participant Selected." For more information, see Stimulus Activities.
Availability Date - The date the Activity will become visible to participants. If no date is selected, the Activity is available immediately. Please note that if you are using GoReact in an LMS (Canvas, Blackboard, etc.) then this setting is hidden (you will set this in your LMS assignment settings instead).
Due Date - The date the Activity is due. GoReact will still allow submissions after the due date, but the submission date will be shown in red to indicate that it was late. Please note that if you are using GoReact in an LMS (Canvas, Blackboard, etc.) then this setting is hidden (you will set this in your LMS assignment settings instead).
Scoring & Evaluation - An Activity can be Not Scored, be given numeric points, or evaluated using a Rubric for scoring. Please note that if you are using GoReact in an LMS (Canvas, Blackboard, etc.), the points in this section must match the value in the LMS in order for grade passback to work correctly.
- Allow reviewer access - When using a rubric, you can select whether you want to allow reviewers in your course to have access to your scored rubrics.
Group Recording Session - This setting is available only on Standard activities. It allows up to nine presenters to join a single recording session. For more information, see Group recording activities.
Allow live review - Owners and Reviewers can provide feedback live at the time of recording. For more information, see Live review activities.
Single recording attempt (test) - Restricts students to only one submission for the Activity. Their submission must be a direct recording. For more information, see Single Attempt activities.
Time limit - Recordings will automatically end at the specified time limit. (Doesn't affect uploads)
Enable Guest Review for Participants - This setting will allow participants to share their video with someone outside of your organization who can then provide feedback on that video. For more information, see Guest Review.
Disable source video rewinding and skipping- This setting is only available on Stimulus and Comment Only activities. Participants will not be able to control the source media playback.
Disable source video closed captions - This setting is only available on Stimulus and Comment Only activities. GoReact will not generate or display real-time closed captions for this source media.
Participant slides - This setting is available only on Standard activities. Slide Sync™ allows participants to add PDF slides to their video. These slides will be shown side-by-side with the video and can be timed to automatically advance during playback. For more information, see Adding slides to a video.
Markers - A set of labels with preset responses. For more information, see Creating a Marker set.
Participant rubrics - A structured evaluation that participants can complete for Self-Evaluation or Peer Evaluation.
Attachments - Add any additional attachments or resources you wish to provide. This could be in video or PDF form. (Select the desired item from any collection in your library or upload the file to your library and select it. For more information on using the library, see our GoReact Library guide.)
Recording instructions - (Text or Video) These instructions will be shown before the Participant records or uploads a video.
Feedback instructions - (Text or Video) These instructions will be shown before the Participant reviews a video.
