New GoReact Interface (Fall 2023)

New GoReact Interface (Fall 2023)

This change, at first, will only be for users in goreact.com. Users accessing GoReact in their LMS (Canvas, Blackboard, etc.) will see this change late 2023.

GoReact is introducing new terminology to welcome users across a broader use-type. The new terminology is as follows:

  • Courses > Folders
  • Assignments > Activities
  • Instructor > Owner
  • Student > Participant
  • Grades > Scores

Please watch this video to see a demo of the new GoReact experience

Please review our newly updated articles for core functionality here:

  1. Creating a Folder (formerly known as "Courses")
  2. Creating an Activity (formerly known as "Assignments")
  3. Inviting Users

If you prefer written documentation, please refer to the drop-downs below:

  4. Select an existing license from the drop-down. If you do not have a license, click "Purchase License"
  5. Optional: Add Start and End Dates. If you do not check this box, the folder will end the same day as your license. If you want the folder to end sooner than that, check the box and adjust the dates.
  6. Click "Create Folder" to finish.

After creating your Folder, follow these guides to finish setting everything up:

Inviting Users

Please Note

In our new vertical navigation, there is some new terminology. Note that Folder/Course, Activity/Assignment, Owner/Instructor, Participant/Presenter, and Score/Grade are interchangeable terms.

Inviting Users to your Folder

To invite users to your folder, you have two options:

Both options will work for participants. If you are inviting an Admin, Owner, or Reviewer to your folder then you will need to use individual invites.

Note: this video is a screen recording and does not have any audio.
The video above shows two ways you can get to the Invite users screen. The steps are also broken down in the sections below.

Group Join Link

The easiest way to invite student presenters to your course is to use a Group Join Link.  To find this link:

  1. Open your Folder by clicking on it.
  2. Click "Invite" at the bottom right of your dashboard

  3. Copy the Group Join Link on the left by clicking on the Copy icon.  mceclip0.png

  4. You can then provide this link to your participants to allow them to register for your course.

Important

Each Group Join Link is unique and is good only for the Folder that you copied the link from.  If you have multiple folders/sections, you will need to copy the link for each one separately.

If you need to invalidate an existing link, you can generate a new one for your course by clicking the refresh link button. Afterward, the old link can no longer be used.

Individual Invitations

To invite participants with an email, or to invite Admins, Owners, or Reviewers, you need to send individual invitations.

To send individual invitations:

  1. Open your Folder by clicking on it.
  2. Click the "Invite" button at the bottom right of the dashboard.

  3. Enter one or more email addresses (separated by a comma or semicolon).
  4. Select the Role (permission level) that all of these users should have.
  5. Click "Send Invitations."

Each user will receive an email with a personalized link to register for your course with the indicated Role.  Users with existing accounts will automatically be added to the course.  Users without an existing account will be prompted to create one and will then be added to the course. Users creating an account from this link must use the same email address you invited them with.

Invite from the Dashboard

Additionally, to get to the Invite Users screen, you can just click the ellipses next to your Folder on the dashboard and click "Invite Users."

Are you not seeing your Folders/Activities?

Not to worry! It's likely that you haven't filtered to the proper drop-down to see it. At the top of your GoReact dashboard clicking "Filter by:" and changing the drop-down to "All" will allow you to see 100% of your Folders, or Activities.
